Description:
Each CD-ROM includes a series of easy-to-search indexes. Each
record will include: names of the married couple, their parents' names
(if known) along with the date and place of marriage. A record may
also include known children with pertinent genealogical information on
each. Most names are hyper linked and when clicked upon will automatically
bring you the the previous or next generation. The bulk of the marriage
dates are from the 1700’s to the early 1900’s but extend from the 1500’s
to the late 1900’s.If you are
working on a complete genealogy of paternal and maternal ancestry, this
is the tool for you.
It is possible to trace ones entire direct line within minutes with just a dozen or so clicks!!!

: Because
of the verynature of French-Canadian
Ancestry, most of the modern families link back to some of the 35 original
families that settled in Québec in the 1630's. With hundreds of
GEDCOMsaccumulated from various
sources, there will be some duplicates of the early ancestors, perhaps
up to 25%. There is no way to determine the exact amount of duplication
so we are giving our best educated guess.
Given the various sources of the data and the sheer number of entries we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the data.In genealogy it is always best to try and verify the data.
·There is no clear set of standard place name abbreviations on these CDs. However, we feel that this will not present a problem except to those who are completely new to French-Canadian genealogy.·To address this concern we will create an on-line database of these difficult abbreviations. If you find a place name abbreviation that you cannot understand just email us at info@quintinpublications.com . We will give you the benefit of our 30 years of experience in the field to help you determine what that abbreviation is.
